Have you been caught by the knitting loom craze? My daughter's friend, Becca, sometimes joins our weekly "Stitch and Bitch" needlework group. She came to learn to knit and crochet, but in between S&B meetings she discovered the knitting loom. This has intrigued me since I saw it, so Becca brought it to S&B, showed me how to use it and left me one of her looms to try out. Here is the start of a scarf. It is so quick and easy and FUN!! I still love to knit, but after having just finished a knitting project (pictures coming soon), this is a really nice, stress-free, quick little project. The internet says that you can complete a scarf in about four hours. This is about how much I accomplished in two hours...
I think it will take me a little longer than four hours to finish! In my defense, those first two hours included trying to remember what Becca told me the week before, not remembering and looking up "knitting loom" tutorial on You Tube (what on earth did we do without You Tube, anyway??)
As a side note, Becca made a dozen or so of these scarves as Christmas gifts, she's making hats with the round loom AND she taught herself to crochet! She's crocheting cup cozies now!
