SENATE PASSES 2.8 TRILLION DOLLAR BUDGET FOR 2007

THIS IS A LOT OF MONEY! It may or may not get through the House of representatives and is not what Bush sent forward and it was passed by the GOP who are supposed to be the fiscal conservatives? The only thing I can see conservative about the GOP now that it has been hi-jacked by the far Christian right is their ties and dark colored suits. All of them dress like they are headed to church on a Sunday morning and they are spending our money faster than a Baptist preacher can ask for it which is pretty damn often and fast.

The National debt is now approaching the nine trillion dollar mark. Hell, I don't even know how many zeros are in a trillion. I though it a trillion was just a way of saying a bunch the same as a jillion. Now I find that it is actually a number and the number divided by the population--not counting illegals--it works out to 30,000 bucks a piece for every man woman and child. That is a lot of debt.

Do you know what happens when a counties debt gets too high? Taxes are raised to pay for it. Then when the tax burden is such that a business can't make a profit they shut down--putting people out of work which means more money for more social spending. Thus comes higher taxes, more borrowing, and more businesses shutting down until there is insufficient funds to even pay the interest and the government defaults. Depression? Not really--think of it more as raging inflation. The dollar will not be worth the paper it is printed on and a loaf of bread will cost a wheelbarrow full of green backs. In fact the wheelbarrow will be worth more than the dollars it can carry.

Take a look back in history at what happened to Mexico and Brazil and some other countries when they let their national debt get out of control. We are headed the same way. We can stop it. It will be tough and there will be some hard times for a lot of people. The socialists will scream it is unfair to the poor...but it can be done. Not only it can be done it will be done. We can do it now while it will not hurt as many people nor hurt as badly or we can wait until it is too late and it is forced on us. I would rather do it now. Tell your representatives to stop the pork. The government must tighten its belt and stop spending more than it takes in.
