Bridesmaids shamed for wearing ‘bin bag’ dresses and trainers to wedding - NEWS.com.au Posted: 06 Oct 2019 06:25 PM PDT Admit it — no bride has ever successfully picked a dress that all her bridesmaids were 100 per cent happy with. Fact. But while most of us simply have to make our peace with an ill-fitting pastel gown, one bride went down a slightly different path when she picked a black bridesmaid dress for her friends. And to make matters worse, the dresses have now been compared to "bin bags" online. Inviting other users to comment on the, um, controversial choice on the Reddit forum "Awful Everything", a disapproving wedding shamer wrote, "I didn't know Hefty made a bridal line." They then posted a picture of the four anonymous American bridesmaids posing in their black, satin dresses. And as much as we hate to admit it, they do sort of look like bin bags now that we think about it. On the plus side, the divisive dresses have pockets that make them a clear winner in our eyes. The bridesmaids are also pictured proudly showing off their matching teal trainers that are presumably the bride's "something blue". In response to the criticism, one user said, "I have many questions about this photo … "What the hell are they wearing on their body and their feet?" Side note: Weddings can involve standing on your feet for up to 16 hours so you'll find us rocking the Converse to the next one we're invited to please and thanks. Another commenter pointed out, "The pockets are the only redeemable thing I can see here." In other wedding horror stories, this Bridezilla has been mocked for demanding guests still send her a gift even if they can't attend the wedding. And this bride whispered to the groom she took a "really big dump" before walking down the aisle — not realising he's wearing a microphone. Plus a maid of honour, who was told she could "wear anything" to the wedding, baffled guests when she showed up in an inflatable dinosaur costume. Woman who bought dresses online sent 25,000 ecstasy pills in the post instead - Mirror Online Posted: 27 Sep 2019 12:00 AM PDT A middle-aged couple who mail-ordered two dresses online were surprised to receive a package containing 25,000 ecstasy pills instead. The couple, aged 58 and 59, who live in Austria, had ordered two dresses online from a clothing store in the Netherlands to their home in Linz. They were having breakfast one morning at their when two parcels turned up from the Netherlands, Linz Police said. One contained two dresses. The other - three plastic bags full of pink pills. The woman originally thought the colourful pills were decorative stones. But on closer inspection, her husband became more suspicious and returned the delivery to their local post office, police asid. The post office reported the delivery to the force, who found the packages contained nearly 25,000 Ecstasy tablets. The force's narcotics department discovered that the tablets' intended destination had actually been Glasgow- 940 miles away from the couple's home in Linz. The police said in a statement: "The originally planned cosy breakfast was quickly over and to the horror of the couple, it turned out that, though one of the packages did contain the two dresses, the second however had 24,800 Ecstasy tablets worth about €500,000 (£442,800). "In the following investigation it turned out that it was a mail misconduct. "The package should have been actually sent from the Netherlands to Scotland." The UK's National Crime Agency and Police Scotland are reportedly investigating, the Austrian police force said. It added; "Understanbly, the Dutch authorities showed great interest in [the] sender of the package." The party drug Ecstasy, known as 'E,' is used for its euphoric effects. Overdoses of the drug, a Class-A illegal substance in the UK, have resulted in deaths. |
